In which countless people have spoken about how you will own nothing, the volume of how this is becoming more and more true are growing. To see how this is true in every aspect of our modern life is ever more troubling. Amazon is making this apparent for those who still believe that when you "purchase" a book via the Kindle store, that you own it outright. This has never been true from the start, you only purchase a license to read it. A license that can, and has been revoked on your past purchases.

Starting on February 26th, 2025, Amazon is removing a feature from its website allowing you to download purchased books to a computer and then copy them manually to a Kindle over USB. It’s a feature that a lot of Kindle users are probably not aware of, given books can be more easily sent to devices over Wi-Fi, but it’s especially useful for backing up purchases or converting them to other formats compatible with non-Kindle e-readers.

Taking the time this week in downloading all of my Kindle book library. It's a pain in the butt as you have to click several times for each book. You can still strip out the DRM at a later date but, your window is closing to download your items is closing quickly.
