Hey everyone,

I've been thinking a lot about digital dependency lately, especially after watching thousands of creators panic during the recent TikTok ban scare. For 14 hours, we witnessed what happens when your entire business lives on someone else's platform.

This got me wondering: How many of us have truly thought about what would happen if our primary platform disappeared overnight? Not just TikTok, but Instagram, YouTube, or whatever platform your content lives on?

I wrote a detailed piece about this https://www.2tonwaffle.com/the-death-of-digital-wanderlust-why-creators-need-platform-independence/, but I'm really curious about your experiences:

- How many of you have backup plans if your main platform went down?

- What steps are you taking to build platform independence?

- Has anyone successfully transitioned their audience from one platform to another?

- Do you think the convenience of major platforms outweighs the risks?

For those who've been in the game longer, I'd especially love to hear how you've seen the landscape change from the old forum days to today's platform-centric approach.

Let's discuss how we can build more sustainable creator businesses without putting all our eggs in one algorithmic basket.

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts!

[Note: I've explored this topic in depth here https://www.2tonwaffle.com/the-death-of-digital-wanderlust-why-creators-need-platform-independence/ if you want more context, but let's keep the discussion focused on your experiences and strategies.]
