I've set up the Invision Community v5 beta on our beta site for messing around with the new workflows, layouts, and the newness of it. The main focus for the next few weeks is to get acquainted with the new system. I'm working on finding a great system in which the articles of the site and even bringing in elements from other sources within 2TonWaffle can be displayed and presented as a front page for site visitors. Registration is open and the thing to note is that the beta site is a testing ground so be prepared for constant changes and/or content disappearing as I work on getting used to the new changes.

Going through in getting use to the new layouts and processes, I'm already seeing that there is going to be a few changes in how I post new articles and posts. One of these changes is to start the use of tags. This is actually a great way in customizing the look of a new landing page to the site. Still going through things and will be testing out different layouts on the beta site.

 I really enjoy this layout and look. I had been thinking about setting up a forum website, and this is the model that I was looking at. I think part of it is that I prefer the darker colors at the moment.

I'm constantly trying different layouts to see what kind I will be happy with. The experiments continue with the process to see how the blog postings look, along with the updated tagging. 

Even the light mode has a darker tone as I didn't want to have my eyeballs burned out lol but, still provides a lighter version.

Tried to do a upgrade from v4 to v5 with a copy of the production site, let's say that it did not go as planned. Going to continue to wait until we get a updater built in so I don't mess things up.

Beta site is working perfectly now and I managed to work out why things were breaking before. Going through the motions of setting things up how I would like the new format to look and realizing that I will have to go through all of these tags and streamline things a lot. 

I'm happy in how it's turning out and will probably work on moving things over to the new version later next month or early next year.
