Hey everyone, So I just wrapped up my weekly "First Two Hours" stream where I tackle games from my Steam backlog, and this week was AI War 2. Holy crap, what a ride. Has anyone else tried to learn this game recently? The tutorials are like being waterboarded with spreadsheet data. I'm talking 40+ minutes just to understand basic fleet movement, and that's WITH the game holding my hand. The tutorial even bugged out on me twice where I did exactly what it asked but it wouldn't advance to the next
Just finished my first two hours with Ageless and man, what a mixed experience. This puzzle platformer has one of the coolest mechanics I've seen in years (aging creatures forward/backward through life stages), but the execution requirements had me questioning my life choices. The aging system is genuinely brilliant. Turn aggressive monsters into harmless babies, age creatures to activate pressure plates, use their different life stages strategically. Combined with gorgeous pixel art and a surpr
After writing my deep dive into Age of Wonders: Planetfall, something really struck me about my own final thoughts on the genre. I mentioned how turn-based strategy removes the constant stress of real-time games where you're frantically managing multiple fronts simultaneously. This got me reflecting on my own gaming habits lately. How many times have I loaded up a real-time strategy game, only to find myself pausing every few seconds just to think through my next move? Or worse, getting so overw
Hey everyone! Just wrapped up a pretty intense gaming session with 911 Operator and wanted to get some discussion going about this one. Been seeing it pop up in Steam sales but never pulled the trigger until recently. Has anyone else played this? I'm genuinely curious about your experiences, especially if you've tackled the higher difficulty modes. Expert mode sounds absolutely brutal with no pause function and overtime penalties. The resource management aspect really caught me off guard. Starte
Hey everyone! Just wrapped up playing Dark Side Detective on stream and had to share my thoughts with you all. This little indie point-and-click adventure completely flew under my radar until now, and I'm kicking myself for waiting so long to try it. For those who haven't heard of it, you play as Detective McQueen investigating supernatural cases in the delightfully weird town of Twin Lakes. Think X-Files meets classic LucasArts adventures, with enough pop culture references to make your head
